Lapsing of Proceedings under Land Acquisition Act, 1894

Abstract

The recent five judge bench Supreme Court judgment in the matter of Indore Development Authority vs. Manoharlal & Ors. is an important judgment, which decides the long pending issue of lapsing of proceedings initiated under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, which has been repealed. The Article analyses the effect of the judgment and gives a perspective as to how the proceedings initiated under the old Land Acquisition Act, 1894 is now required to be treated by the judicial fora.
