Crime of Aggression: Syrian Issue

Abstract

There has been a rising internal issue in Syria regarding the uprisings against the Assad Regime. The steps taken by the Assad government to suppress the uprisings left the world dumbstruck. Due to the rising casualties which left the country devasted, it came into notice worldwide. When the effects of the internal violence in the country started affecting world peace, the superpower nations like US and France intervened to restore peace in the country although it involved the use of chemical weapons as well. While trying to establish peace again in the state of Syria military interventions used force against the Assad Regime. The question here arises that whether it was legit for other countries like USA and France to use force against another state in the name of establishing peace? Whether the actions taken by President Trump accounted for Crime of Aggression? To answer the same, it is important to know the Syrian crises and role of US and France in the same along with knowing what actually the Crime of Aggression is.
