Case Study

Case analysis is a method of analyzing judgments (and, if necessary, additional court papers) in all of their elements in order to detect issues with the courts' consistent application of the law. During this type of investigation, an analyst determines the scope of issues that exist in the implementation of material and/or procedural rules.

Counting numbers isn't part of case analysis. It's also not research by law clerks working with judges at the Chambers in the context of a specific court case.

Case analysis is also distinct from academic research conducted at universities in that it is a more practical research tool than academic research and is generated directly from the demands of the judiciary and legal practice. A research project's subject is usually broader, the materials are larger, and the research questions are more practical.
