Special issue of Criminal Law Journal

UP COMING-SPECIAL ISSUES

Special Issue Information

Gender is one of the most powerful factors of criminalization, victimisation, and offending. Gender also has an impact on criminal justice experiences. Men are more prone than women to commit crimes, especially serious violence, to be victims of violence (at the hands of other men), and to be over-represented in criminal justice systems around the world. However, the amount of women facing criminalization, notably imprisonment, has risen dramatically in recent decades, and male violence against women (such as domestic and sexual assault) is a worldwide issue. Despite this, criminology has primarily focused on explaining the criminalization of men.

This Special Issue aims to further current discussions about gender, crime, criminalization, victimisation, criminal justice, and the law. We accept empirical, theoretical, policy, and practice-based publications that contribute to a better understanding of gender in these domains.

Contributions in the following areas are specifically sought:

1." Criminal Justice System & Social Defence"

2. "Sexual harassment at the workplace. (POSH)"
