Abstract

It is general principle of law that a person is responsible for his all willful acts and omissions, which are calculated to, and, which in fact, do harm to another. The law allows or gives immunities to certain class of person, and granted defences or exemption in case of certain situations and occasions. In the words of Sir Frederick Pollock these are the “rules of immunities which limit the rules liability”. Therefore for every act which come out of tort it comes with justification also. Therefore this article has explained about various general defences or justifications of torts.
