Digital Archiving Policy
This page states what is in place for the long-term preservation of this journal’s content. It describes the position as it stands today and is updated when that position changes.
Preservation — PKP Preservation Network
Journal of Law of Torts and Consumer Protection Law (ISSN 2583-3898) is enrolled in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed dark archive operated by the Public Knowledge Project for journals published using Open Journal Systems. Published issues are packaged and deposited into the network, where they are replicated across independent nodes running LOCKSS software. Should this journal’s website become permanently unavailable, the preserved content can be released by the network.
The journal is registered with the network and its terms of use have been accepted. The network is completing its own registration of this journal, after which the journal’s published issues are packaged and deposited automatically. No content has been deposited yet, and this page will be updated to state the deposited and preserved coverage as that happens.
Persistent identification — Crossref
Consortium e-Learning Network Pvt. Ltd. is a Crossref member (member ID 21859). DOIs are registered for a portion of this journal’s articles under the prefix 10.37591 and resolve to the article’s landing page. A DOI keeps a citation resolvable if an article’s URL changes. It is a persistent identifier, not a preservation service, and is listed here for that reason rather than as an archiving measure.
Metadata availability
The journal’s complete bibliographic metadata is openly harvestable over OAI-PMH at /index/oai. Metadata harvested by third-party discovery services remains available through those services independently of this website.
Operational backups
The publisher takes daily backups of the journal platform and its database, retained on a rolling basis. Backups protect against operational loss and are not a substitute for third-party preservation; the PKP Preservation Network deposit described above is what provides independent preservation.
What this journal does not claim
This journal is not a member of CLOCKSS, the Global LOCKSS Network, Portico, MetaArchive, Perma.cc, or any preservation service other than the PKP Preservation Network named above. Any earlier listing of such services on this site was incorrect and has been removed.
