Criminal Law in Ancient Stone Inscription, Case of Thai Law

Abstract

Criminal law is an important kind of law for any country. This kind of law has been existed since the ancient time. In the area with a long history, the evidence of ancient criminal law might be observable. Here, the authors present and discuss on the ancient criminal law appeared in ancient stone inscription in Thailand. It can be seen that the punishment quoted in the ancient law is less severe than that quoted in the present criminal law.
