Abstract

Women’s safety has been a concern from time immemorial. Sexual Harassment is a haunting curse which women are exposed to. The society in which they work, very often, becomes their predators, therefore, women’s safety turns out to be a vehement challenge. Sexual Harassment with the flow of time has taken its own form. In today’s era, digital safety for women emanates as a new concern. As technology advances, women are left behind in a digital divide as digital illiteracy encroaches against their freedom to move forward and thus hits hard their safety. The challenges which women faces at a workplace to be at par with men is in itself a great task. Physical safety as well as digital safety is the new duo. Thus, it becomes necessary to pay heed towards the issue at hand and take effective and efficient measures to curb this menace legally, technologically as well as anthropologically. This research paper attempts to study this grave issue and its much-folded facets. It brings out the threats exposed to women in the digital world especially at the workplace and studies the initiatives taken to prevent the so called digital sexual harassment at the workplace. This paper also discusses the legal aspect of it and provides with thought provoking suggestions as to how technology can become a savior and protector of women in this fast-paced digital world.
