Abstract

The Inquisition, established under the influence of Western European canon law, is famous for its terror, late night stealing and torture. The Spanish Inquisition is far more powerful than the Inquisitions of other European countries in the same period, and is therefore more attractive. Compared with the European Inquisition, the Spanish Inquisition has particularity that its operation is completely obedient to the Spanish royal family, and it is also mainly established for Jews known as religious heretics. In addition, this oppression against the Jews has become more complicated due to the emergence of Marrano.
