Abstract

This paper critically examines the significant works of Manoj Babli (2007) and Meenakshi Kumari (2011), who have made substantial contributions to the fields of sociology and social work, respectively. Babli’s research focuses on the socio-economic challenges experienced by marginalized communities, utilizing qualitative methodologies to highlight the repercussions of policy changes on these vulnerable groups. Conversely, Kumari’s study explores the psychosocial dimensions of community development, placing a strong emphasis on the role of social support networks in enhancing community resilience. Through a comparative analysis, this paper articulates the strengths and limitations of the methodologies employed by both researchers, demonstrating that while Babli provides critical insights into the impact of socio-economic policies, Kumari enriches our understanding of community dynamics and the human experience of social change. The paper concludes by advocating for a multidisciplinary approach to understanding complex social issues and suggests avenues for future research that build on the foundational work of both authors.
