Abstract

The research study has focused on mental healthcare and mental well-being in the legal profession in India. The research study has specifically focused on the Indian cultural perspectives towards mental health and factors that are required to be acknowledged to reduce the rate of suicides in the legal profession. The problem is that the situation for legal professionals has changed with the advancement of technology. The legal profession is such that it is about fulfilling clients' needs regarding any legal matter. But, mental well-being in the legal profession has not been prioritized yet, and thousands of legal professionals are going through some type of physiological challenges. Mental health has a very significant role to play in the legal profession as it is necessary for an attorney to focus on the case in a well-mannered manner so that it is beneficial for the client. The research study has been conducted via a secondary research method, discussing necessary factors which led to such distress. Accordingly,
literature gaps regarding a few significant issues have been addressed, to visualize new reforms in regulations related to mental health well-being in India.
