Termination of Pregnancy “ABORTION” and illegal practices

This paper talks about abortion and other topics relates to that and malpractice done in India. Abortion known as killing the child before birth or inside the womb. It generally done in first 20 weeks of pregnancy after that it will be complicated to abort the child; it may risk the life of the woman. There are two types of abortion. First one is through pills available in the market and second one is through surgery. Abortion through pills is cheap although abortion through surgery is expensive but for pills one should have proper knowledge about them, their uses, side effects etc.
If we talk about India the Supreme Court has legalize abortion in certain cases. In sprite of this there are many illegal abortion done in India, in order to kill the girl child inside the womb because to the male preference of the society. People generally determine the sex of the child through illegal mean and then if it as girl then they kill her. And this causes a huge difference on the sex ratio of the society.
This paper also talks about the MTP Act (medical termination of pregnancy act) the guidelines for abortion which a doctor should follow and also may other legislation related to abortion like IPC, 1860, Indian Constitution and other legislations.
