Abstract

One of the most worrisome topics for feminists in recent years, encapsulating a virtually unsolvable quandary, is the lack of exercising choice for medical termination of pregnancy by a unique entity that is bearing life inside her. The development of medical termination of pregnancy act 1971 to the recent amendment of 2021 has come far way of having safe abortion practice in India to recognizing women’s right, What other laws in India are intertwined with the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act ? Can
the reproductive rights be considered as an basic right included under right to privacy and fundamental rights. The report also examines the situation of abortions in India before and after the amendment of 2021, amendments and development of the act through time.
