Abstract

Do you think women are inferior to men? If yes, then you carry a misogynistic mindset. Misogyny is a sort of
sexism designed to put women at a lower social rank than men. This is causing a negative physical, emotional, and
social impact on women, which is depleting their perspective of themselves. As a result, women in modern society
are expected to have innate insights into nurturing and raising children, whereas husbands are the breadwinners in
the family setting. Society scrutinizes men and women in different categories, whereby men are favored while
women are judged due to society's conception of gender and gender norms. The issues that misogyny brings
cannot be solved in an instant. The key motive of this paper is to investigate the existence of misogyny in our
society by understanding how it impacts women and why society should make a change to eliminate this issue. The
women's movement has been a controversial topic throughout time, and although women today possess equal
rights as men, they still feel oppressed. While social media has a huge impact on how society desires to view social
issues, there are questions yet to be answered on why women are still feeling oppressed.
