Types of Reports

1. Law Reports 
These reports feature the court's whole judgement as well as a summary of the judgement in the headnote. These reports are frequently cited over summary reports.

2. Summary Reports

Summary reports are legal documents that solely contain a summary of the case, similar to case digests. In comparison to the full-text reports, these are likewise less formal.

3. Official Report
Official reports are those that are made public by the government. Even now, they are not very popular because they are updated slowly and are frequently rather pricey. Indian Law Reports is one such official law report in India.

4. Non-Official Reports 
These are legal reports that have been published privately. Because of the quickness with which non-official reports are published these days, they are frequently preferred over official reports. They may, however, charge a premium cost for their services because they are privately published. Furthermore, non-official reports have a tendency to be repetitious, which could defeat the goal of a law report, which is to provide information about new precedents.
