The proposed draft Administrative Measures for Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Services by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) addresses the fast-emerging field of generative AI technologies. These regulations aim to control and manage the increasing use of generative AI in various industries. This study details the significant provisions of the draft measures and explores their implications for the AI industry and service providers in China. The draft rules require all generative AI service providers to register with the relevant authorities. The registration process will include submitting appropriate documents, such as technical specifications, risk assessment reports, etc.
