Abstract

Gender equality and women’s rights are fundamental to social justice, human rights, and sustainable development. Social work, as a profession dedicated to social justice and empowerment, plays a critical role in advocating gender equality and supporting women’s rights. This paper explores the multifaceted role of social workers in addressing gender-based disparities, combating gender-based violence, promoting economic empowerment, and advocating for policy changes to enhance women’s rights globally. By leveraging community-based interventions, policy advocacy, and direct services, social workers help dismantle systemic barriers and empower women to achieve equitable opportunities.
