Industrial effluent pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, significantly endangering public health through the contamination of vital water sources with hazardous chemicals and toxins. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of environmental laws in addressing the public health impacts of industrial effluents, with a focus on both successes and shortcomings. Through a detailed analysis of case studies from diverse regions, the research highlights existing legal frameworks, identifies enforcement bottlenecks, and explores gaps in implementation that hinder their efficacy. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating stringent regulations, efficient enforcement mechanisms, and active community participation to mitigate health risks. To enhance the impact of these laws, recommendations include harmonizing domestic regulations with international standards, leveraging advanced monitoring technologies, and providing incentives for industries to adopt sustainable practices. These measures aim to safeguard water quality, promote public health, and support sustainable development goals.
