Environmental Pollution & Degeneration of Healthy Lifein Our Polity: A Great Concern

Abstract

A pollution-free environment is a pre-condition to a healthy and prosperous future; sustainable development and ever-growing economic growth for all the posterities to come. Similarly, environmental pollution is responsible for the degeneration of healthy life not only for human beings but also for all living beings viz., flora and fauna. This paper also unfolds that the Western paradigm
of development is also responsible for environmental pollution, development divide and degeneration of healthy life. This paper also studies environmental pollution and the degeneration of healthy life as a matter of great concern in our polity which is not only a sovereign federal parliamentary democratic polity having unitary bias, but also the world’s most populated country. In this context a
proposition for which proper and incessant sanitation is needed. It also studies the tremendous work done in our polity toward pollution-free environment. It also emphasizes the need for our duty toward national campaigns viz., Swachchata campaign, Meri maati mera desh, ek Ped Maan ke Naam, Swachchata heen Sewa, etc. The paper also put forth that it is our collective responsibility to work toward a safe and protected environment entuned with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam as an environment that covers the entire Earth, can never be divided as mine and thine. In fine, the paper also suggests some measures that could make people habitually directed toward environmental concern and a healthy life.
