Abstract

Theories of victim compensation are important to understand the principles and practices that will guide how victims' compensation is carried out. These theories provide a structure for assessing the suitable amount of compensation and the methods through which it is granted. This paper examines the different kinds of theories regarding victim compensation, how they historically evolved, and their orientation toward criminal law.
