The international arbitration case between the European Union and Canada in the field of tariffs is one of the most prominent cases of international trade disputes, which has had extensive consequences in the field of international trade law. This case revolved around the interpretation and implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and examined legal challenges related to trade tariffs and industrial protections. International arbitration as a neutral and effective tool in this case, based on the rules of the World Trade Organization and the provisions of the CETA agreement, was able to provide solutions to resolve disputes and reduce commercial tensions. The case not only introduced new interpretations of tariff provisions but also had far-reaching implications for the trade policies of other countries. This article analyzes the legal implications of this case and its effects on international legal and economic frameworks and shows how international arbitration can help resolve complex commercial disputes and lead to the strengthening of more sustainable trade agreements.
