Legal Awareness of the Domestic Violence-Related Legal Provisions

Dowry inconvenience and family disputes between husband and wife are some of the major reasons for offenses against women. Domestic violence is an offense which is not only committed by the husband but also commit his family members and this act is likely to cause death, using verbally abusive language, physical violence, sexual abuse, mental torture, etc. That is why to stop these crimes against women law came into the picture. According to Hans Kelsen, the Constitution is a grundnorm, meaning that no one is above it. Every law, bye-laws, or scheme engines with the constitution is meant for the interest of the people. Equality, dignity, justice, and liberty are one of the keywords of the Preamble. The preamble is enshrined in the constitution’s values. Women have fundamental rights to live in a respectful manner because women have their autonomy.
