Abstract

In this article we critically review the health related legislations literature and its role in promotion and protection of right to health, in India. We first focus on the Constitutional provisions that are available for securing the public health on various level (social, economic and environmental) along with various other constituents affecting the public health and law enactments available for more efficient public health management. Then, we explain how these laws effect can feed back in the construction of a contemporary framework to appropriately use modern legal tools for complex health challenges, and ensure that everyone, everywhere in the country shall have access to healthcare services which is their fundamental right without facing any financial crisis. Our exposition is accompanied by a synthesis of the available quantitative empirical results.
