Abstract

Judicial independence is a cornerstone of any democratic legal system, including the Bhartiyan (Indian) legal system. However, concerns regarding judicial independence persist, raising questions about the system ability to uphold the rule of law and ensure
fair and impartial justice. This overview examines various aspects of judicial independence within the Bhartiyan legal system, including the appointment and removal of judges, executive interference, financial autonomy, and the role of the judiciary in safeguarding its independence. It explores recent developments, challenges, and proposed reforms aimed at strengthening judicial independence and enhancing public trust in the legal system. By addressing these concerns, policymakers and stakeholders can work towards fostering a judiciary that operates independently and effectively serves the interests of justice in Bhartiyan society.
