Abstract

Cybercrime and cyberbullying aimed towards minors are severe concerns that may have long-term effects for young people. Cybercrime refers to illegal crimes carried out through digital technology, such as hacking, phishing, or identity theft. Cyberbullying is the use of digital technology to harass, degrade, or intimidate another person. Children and teens are especially susceptible to these sorts of online abuse because they have less experience accessing the internet and may be unaware of the hazards connected with sharing personal information online. Cybercrime and cyberbullying may cause mental misery, social isolation, and, in rare circumstances, physical injury to adolescents.
