Abstract

This article meant to talk about the dissolution of marriage and the grounds for it.  In law, to dissolve a marriage, the law of marriage provides the principles to be observed; and that observation based on the regulations set up by the court once is satisfied and prove the conduct of the responded which lead to the irrepealably breakdown of the man and wife.

Additional to that, the author anticipates presenting some of the conditions for which a divorce is granted, defences which are applied against the petition for divorce, and the consequences therein. In this clause, a writer intends to anticipate the prospect of dissolution of marriage (divorce) which in Tanzania is based on one principle i.e. breakdown of union. This principle basically implies that, for a decree of dissolution of marriage to be issued, the court must be satisfied that the union has stopped down with no hope of it being recovered.
